Liberals are usually ok with gay marriage and pro choice, which usually gets them the reputation of being the atheist, ungodly people, according to many Christian conservatives. They say that Jesus said that gay marriage, or even being homosexual, is bad, and that you would go to hell for it. Which is not exactly correct.
The one time that Jesus himself does talk about it, it says something along the lines that a man, should not sleep with a boy. Now, this could be interpreted that homosexuality is bad, but it could also be interpreted that a grown man should not force a little boy to have sexual interaction with him, which was popular back then.
And even then, that is only one time that he talked about homosexuality. What Jesus really talked about was the poor, and how we need to help them, and that is what Obama, and other leading Democrats want to do, and even Republicans agree. They said that Obama wants to take some of their money and give it to the poor, which is correct, but only 5% of Americans taxes are being raised to pay for the lower 95%. It seems that since Jesus talked about helping the poor so much, he would have been a fan of this.
When it comes to abortion, the leading Democrats, including Obama, believe in choice. They are not forcing you to get an abortion, which is something that I have heard some top conservative reporters say, they just want to give people the option in a life death situation of the mother. And in the bible, this is mentioned, but not often. And during this past election, a Catholic priest told his congregation that if they voted for Obama, they were going to Hell. Hmm, that doesn’t sound very godlike.
So, when you really take the time to look, Jesus would want us to help the poor and less fortunate than worry about petty things like gay marriage that doesn’t affect you and your family. Let’s work to help, rather than hurt.
